Oh my god. Rubirosa pizza is served at 235 Mulberry Street, in the Nolita area of NYC. Quite simply one of the most delicious pizza I have ever eaten. From an earlier post, you know that I recommended Vezzo, another great pizzeria in Murray Hill. Rubirosa is larger, more boisterous and busy, and unlike Vezzo, will most definitely need reservations. When we first visited on a Friday night, we were told there was a 2.5 hour wait. Enough said.
What makes Rubirosa stand out? Well, the thinnest crusts and the tastiest toppings. In addition to a large Rubirosa supreme (tomatoes, mozzarella, pepperoni, meatballs, roasted garlic – tell me your mouth isn’t watering!), we also opted for a half-and-half Aragula (tomatoes, onions, parmesan and balsamic) and Tie-Dye (vodka, tomato, pesto and mozzarella) -take a look at the image!
Rubirosa also stands out for its lively surroundings, its location (easy to get to and other great restaurants, bars and shopping are all nearby), and quick and friendly service.
